Using 1998 data, in another BLS article titled Taxicabs have by far the greatest work-related homicide risk, BLS revealed:
The taxicabs industry has the highest homicide rate of any industry, almost 36 homicides per 100,000 employed. This group comprises 0.1 percent of employed workers in the United States but accounts for almost 7 percent of work-related homicides.

Current BLS fatality event data shows that the homicide rate for taxicab drivers is decreasing, but is still far and above other occupations.
