The Canary Murder Case
As science has shown, a film's true nature always comes out in a game of poker - and this game is slow, dull, clumsy, and painfully absurd. With even smooth operator William Powell just delivering lines and not much more, it's Eugene Pallette who's the life of this zombie party (just as he was in the 1928 "The Lights Of New York" ), in a buffoon role that's barely one step up from a (funny) darky role.
