General Policy

Starting 18 September 2020 Hosea Kutako International Airport resumed international flights.
Most land borders remain closed for tourism purposes.

Testing

On arrival, travellers must present a certificate of a 72-hour negative PCR test result. Travellers arriving with a negative result older than 72 hours will be placed in quarantine and tested for COVID-19 on the same day (at their own cost, and will only be released if the results of this test return negative).

Data Collection

Travellers must purchase a local mobile number that can be registered with Namibian authorities.

Movement Restrictions

Starting 21 October 2020, travelers with a negative PCR test result that is not older than three days will be permitted to proceed to their final destination in the country. Otherwise, travelers who arrive with a negative PCR test result that is not older than 7 days, will be permitted to enter, but will be required to undergo 7-days supervised quarantine at home or tourism facility.

Travellers must obtain travel insurance that covers medical treatment and unexpected hotel stays.

Pre-pandemic visa rules

Passport Validity: 6 months
Yellow Fever: The World Health Organization reports (15 November 2018) no risk of yellow fever in Namibia. The government of Namibia requires proof of a yellow fever vaccination certificate for travellers arriving from or having transited through countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
Other Documents: Ministry of Home Affairs page states: "All visitors must also have a valid return ticket."
Transit: - Transit without visa with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 hours. Must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.
