General Policy
  1. Starting 17 April 2022 (1st day of Myanmar New Year), international commercial passenger flights operations to and from Myanmar, suspended since 30 March 2020, has resumed.
  2. Starting 20 May 2022, e-Visa service for tourist visa applications has resumed.

COVID-19 Related Entry Requirements

Visa
  • Starting 20 May 2022, e-Visa service for tourist visa applications has resumed.
Vaccination
  • A printed copy of a certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 at least 14 days before arrival, with one of the vaccines which has been approved by the Ministry of Health, must be presented to airline staffs upon check-in before boarding, as well as to the airport health authorities upon arrival.
Testing
  1. A printed copy of a negative COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) test result issued at most 48 hours before arrival to Myanmar must be presented to airline staffs upon check-in before boarding, as well as to the airport health authorities upon arrival.
  2. Travellers must undergo a COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) at the place designated by the Ministry of Health and airport authorities and must bear the cost.
Data Collection
  • A Health Declaration Form must be presented to the respective airport health authorities upon arrival.
Movement Restrictions
  • No quarantine if the result of the post-arrival COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) is negative.

- Holders of confirmed onward tickets for same calendar day are permitted transit without visa in international transit area.
- Transit visa is available from Myanmar missions abroad. Also available on arrival, for a maximum stay of 24 hours, to USA and other designated passports (The list of passports eligible for visa on arrival is NOT the same as the list below of passports eligible for eVisa).

  1. The duration of stay is 28 days from the date of arrival.
  2. The list of passports given below shows passports eligible for the 28-day, single entry eVisa.
  3. A 28-day, single entry Visa-On-Arrival is also available to USA and other designated passports (The list of passports eligible for visa on arrival is NOT the same as the list below of passports eligible for eVisa).
  4. Tourists must stay in registered hotels, motels, inns, guest house and resort during the stay in Myanmar.
  5. Restricted areas require additional permission for entry.
