Entry

General Policy
  1. Starting 9 June 2020, the flight suspension in effect since 21 March 2020 has been lifted and airports are reopened.
  2. All travellers will need to apply online for a «Cyprus Flight Pass». Starting 1 March 2020, countries are categorized according to their epidemiological situation into categories Green, Orange and Red, with category Green having the most favorable epidemiological status. Any countries not defined into categories Green, Orange or Red are treated as Grey (Special Permission) category. The categorisation of countries will be updated weekly. Note that entry permission is determined by country traveller flies to Cyprus from, regardless of traveller's nationality.
  3. In general, only the following travellers are permitted to fly to Cyprus from countries designated as Grey:
    • citizens of Cyprus and family
    • persons legally residing in Cyprus
    • EU citizens
    • citizens of European Economic Area
    All other travellers from countries designated as Grey must obtain prior special permission.

Vaccination
  • Vaccinated travellers who hold a valid vaccination certificate from the public authorities of any of the accepted countries, regardless of their nationality, will be able to travel to Cyprus, from any country: the prerequisites of the corresponding country category (e.g. RT-PCR laboratory tests, self-isolation, quarantine etc., or issuance of a special permission to enter the country) do not apply. Vaccinated travellers still must obtain a CyprusFlightPass. The updated lists of approved vaccines and accepted countries are available at the source page linked below.

Testing
  1. REQUIRED testing for travellers from specified countries, starting 1 March 2021:
    A certificate that demonstrates a negative PCR for COVID-19, with the sample taken during the last 72 hours prior to flight departure
    • GREEN countries: NOT required
    • All other countries: REQUIRED
    PCR test upon arrival (at traveller expense, results available within 3 hours)
    • RED countries: REQUIRED
    • All other countries: NOT required
  2. OPTIONAL testing:
    Travellers from countries designated as GREY
    May undergo PCR test for COVID-19 on the 7th day of obligatory quarantine, at their own expense, in lieu of 14-day quarantine.
    Cyprus citizens and legal residents
    Have the option of either arranging a COVID-19 test 72 hours before travel, or having this test performed upon entry to Cyprus, at their own expenses.
  3. RANDOM testing: Entire flights are randomly asked to undergo a COVID-19 test upon arrival, irrespective of where they flew from. The cost in such cases is borne by the Cyprus government.

    1. Flight details
    2. Reason for travel
    3. Personal information and contact details
    4. Temporary address in Cyprus
    5. Emergency contact details
    6. Health declarations

Movement Restrictions
  • Only for travellers from countries designated as Grey, who must undergo 14-day quarantine. May undergo PCR test for COVID-19 on the 7th day of quarantine, at their own expense, in lieu of 14-day quarantine.
Insurance
  • Source states: “The Cyprus government is committed to taking care of all travelers who test positive for coronavirus during their stay, as well as their close contacts. The government will transfer these persons to separate facilities, covering the cost of lodging, food, drink, and medication; the traveler will only need to bear the cost of their airport transfer and repatriation flight, in collaboration with their agent and/or airline.”

Requirements

Passport Validity
European Union passports: must be valid on the date of return. Non EU passports require three months validity on the date of return.
Other Documents
Travellers require proof of sufficient funds and a return airline ticket.
Transit
- Holders of confirmed onward tickets are permitted transit without visa in international transit area for up to 24 hours.

Additional Notes

  1. Exemption also applies for passports of British Overseas Territories.
  2. For the following passports, visa exemption applies only for biometric passports: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine.
  3. Regarding the territories under Turkish Cypriot occupation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns: “Currently, it is possible for foreign visitors who visit the government-controlled area of the Republic of Cyprus, to cross to the occupied areas. Staying in Greek Cypriots’ property, including hotels in the occupied areas, which are being illegally exploited, would put you at great risk of possible legal action on the part of the owners. Travelers entering the Republic of Cyprus via the illegal / closed airports and ports (i.e. all the airports and ports in the occupied areas), are in breach of national law of the Republic of Cyprus”.
