General Policy

Starting 20 March 2020, all international flights to New Caledonia are suspended.
On 2 September 2020, Radio New Zealand reported: "New Caledonia has extended travel restrictions in and out of the territory because of the Covid-19 pandemic until 27 March.".
On 10 November 2020, Radio New Zealand reported: "New Caledonia has extended travel restrictions in and out of the territory because of the Covid-19 pandemic until the end of July. The restrictions were earlier meant to lapse in late March. The government said the move was aimed at preventing people from buying airline tickets which might not be honoured.".

Pre-pandemic visa rules

Passport Validity: 6 months
Other Documents: Must be able to submit statutory documentary evidence at the border for the reasons for stay, means of support and accommodation arrangements.
Transit: - Holders of confirmed onward tickets on the first connecting aircraft within one hour, or by the same aircraft, are permitted transit without visa in international transit area.
