General Policy
  1. The U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan reports: "Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes. U.S. citizens are required to obtain a Tajik visa prior to entering Tajikistan.".
  2. The U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan also warns: "NOTE: The Government of Tajikistan frequently adjusts its entry and exit requirements in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and changes to policy are not immediately made available to the public.".

Visa
  • U.S. citizens are required to obtain a Tajik visa prior to entering Tajikistan.
Testing
  1. All travellers must show results from a negative COVID-19 PCR test issued within 72 hours of arrival. Test results are verified before passengers are allowed to board flights to Dushanbe and again upon arrival in Dushanbe.
  2. All travelers may be subject to PCR testing at the airport upon arrival.
Data Collection
  • Travellers will provide contact information.
Movement Restrictions
  • If traveller tests positive for COVID-19 on arrival, traveller may be transferred to a government quarantine facility. Otherwise, traveller allowed to leave the airport.

Transit
- Transit without visa is available at Dushanbe airport, for travellers with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 hours. Must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.

Additional Notes

  1. Two types of visa: standard and electronic (E-visa). Standard tourist visa and electronic visas cannot be extended. A visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 45 days is available at Dushanbe International Airport.
