General Policy
  1. Starting 2 April 2020, entry and transit denied to all travellers. Nationals of Indonesia are exempt and allowed entry. Starting 1 October 2020, travellers holding a legal and valid visa and/or Stay Permit are also exempt and allowed entry.
  2. As of 7 April 2021, this policy is still in effect, according to U.S. Embassy in Indonesia.

Business/Employment Travel
  • On 28 December 2020, Indonesia announced a temporary ban on the entry of all foreign nationals into Indonesia. As such, the Singapore-Indonesia "Reciprocal Green Lane" arrangement that started 12 October 2020, under which travellers of all nationalities who are legally residents in Singapore may apply to travel for single-entry short-term (30 days or less) essential business and official purposes, has been suspended.

COVID-19 Related Entry Requirements

Visa
  1. Starting 2 April 2020, Visitor Visa exemption and Visa on Arrival are suspended until the Covid-19 pandemic is declared over by the ministry or agency mitigating the Covid-19 outbreak.
  2. Visitor Visa and Temporary Stay Visa require a Visa Approval and a sponsor. The sponsor is an individual or corporation responsible for residency and activities while traveller is in Indonesia. A visa application is filed online by the sponsor on behalf of the traveller. The Visa Approval is sent electronically as e-Visa.
  3. Visitor Visa is single-entry, and issued for the following purposes:
    • emergency and essential work
    • business meeting
    • purchase of goods
    • probationary period for foreign workers
    • medical, food, and humanitarian aid worker
    • crew member who joins the vessel in Indonesia
  4. Temporary Stay Visa for work activity is issued for the following purposes:
    • professional or expert work
    • maritime work in Indonesian waters
    • quality control of goods or products
    • workplace inspections and audit
    • aftersales service
    • machine installation and repair
    • temporary construction work
    • probationary period for skilled work
  5. Temporary Stay Visa for non-work activity is issued for the following purposes:
    • investment
    • family reunion
    • retirement travel
Testing
  1. Every traveller must provide a valid declaration of negative result of a PCR test to transport operator. To obtain a Visa Approval the sponsor must submit a health certificate in English, by a competent authority of traveller's home country, declaring traveller to be free from Covid-19.
  2. Every traveller must submit to a PCR test upon arrival by the health authority at port of entry.
Data Collection
  • To obtain a Visa Approval for a Visitor Visa, the sponsor must demonstrate that traveller has sufficient funds of at least US$10,000 to support living expenses during stay in Indonesia.
Quarantine
  1. To obtain a Visa Approval, the sponsor must submit:
    • A declaration letter in English of traveller's consent to do a mandatory self-isolation, or undertake a medical treatment at an accommodation or a designated health facility by the Indonesian government at the traveller’s own expense, when a PCR check upon arrival yields a positive result, or traveller exhibits symptoms.
    • A letter declaring traveller's consent to be monitored during the quarantine or self-isolation, in accordance with the health protocol and provisions of law and regulations
  2. Starting 17 August 2020 South Korean businesspeople that submit negative virus test results are exempt from the mandatory two-week isolation. (Source: "Indonesia agrees to exempt S. Korean businesspeople from entry restrictions")
Insurance
  • To obtain a Visa Approval, the sponsor must demonstrate that traveller has health insurance or travel insurance covering medical expenses, and/or a declaration letter of medical treatment at own expense, if traveller contracts Covid-19 during stay in Indonesia.

Transit
- Holders of confirmed onward tickets are permitted transit without visa in international transit area for up to 8 hours.
- Holders of confirmed onward tickets are permitted transit without visa in international transit area for up to 24 hours at Jakarta Soekarno Hatta (CGK).
- Warning: Transit without visa facilities are not applicable at Jakarta Soekarno Hatta (CGK) for connecting flights in different terminals; passengers must clear immigration and customs.
- Warning: There are no transit without visa facilities available at Denpasar-Bali (DPS); passengers must clear Immigration and Customs.

Additional Notes

  1. Stay is not extendable.
  2. Also available: A Visa-on-Arrival valid for up to 30 days for tourism, family visitation, and other purposes. A Visa-on-Arrival may be extended only once for a maximum of 30 days.
