Pandemic Travel Alert

Most recent update: 2020-09-28 - Airports and borders reopened

General Policy
  1. International Organization for Migration reports: "Two of the five international airports (Aden and Seiyun) are open for commercial and humanitarian flights. Sana’a airport remains closed to humanitarian flights, following the announcement of the authorities on 07 September...All 15 sea border points and three land border points are partially open for movements...".
  2. Starting 09 September 2020, citing a fuel shortage, all United Nations and humanitarian flights to Sanaa International airport have been suspended by the Houthis. Reuters reports: "The Iran-aligned Houthi movement took over the capital Sanaa in the north and most major cities in 2014 after ousting the internationally recognized government. Since then, only U.N. and humanitarian flights have been allowed by the Saudi-led coalition, which controls the Yemeni airspace, to land there."
