Transit
- Holders of confirmed onward tickets through Auckland (AKL) and a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) are permitted transit without visa in international transit area for up to 24 hours.

Additional Notes

  1. Starting 1 October 2019, New Zealand requires travellers planning to enter or transit on a passport issued by a "Visa Waiver Country or Territory" to get a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) and (at the same time) pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) before travel. The NZeTA and IVL are valid for multiple visits for up to 2 years.

Limited Entry
  1. Until further notice, entry denied to all travellers. New Zealand citizens and residents are excepted and allowed entry.
  2. On 11 September 2020 the criteria for overseas workers being allowed through the border was relaxed to allow businesses to access critical staff whose skills are not readily obtainable domestically. The government stated that the bar for being granted an exemption remains high.
